October 2010 - PSA 305 Meeting Notes

At the PSA 305 meeting October 5th at the DC Housing Finance Agency at 815 Florida Ave. NW representatives from the MPD (Lt Jova – PSA 305; Lt Carroll – PSA 308; Marco Santiago – Community Outreach Coordinator; and Officer Loli – auto theft unit) addressed the community.   Lt. Jova stated that the Third District is leading the city in terms of reduction of crime, but that thefts from auto and stolen bicycles are high.  MPD warned residents to be careful of thieves who have been stealing IPhones  and pocket books on the street.  MPD also encouraged residents to close all windows in their residences to prevent burglary.   MPD also encouraged residents to be careful of what they leave in their car – GPS are very popular item from car break-ins. The next PSA 305 meeting will be on Nov 2nd, 7:00 at the DC Housing Finance Agency at 815 Ave. NW.
